After decades of delays, and pressure by OHV organizations and their members, Carnegie-Tesla acquisition moves forward to opening up the new land to OHV for legal and responsible recreation.” Under extreme pressure from environmental organizations, with their legal representatives in tow – along with disgruntled folks making up questionable statements, the OHMVRD Commission Voted 7-0 to accept the EIR, and 7-0 to accept the new General Plan. This historic vote, supported by science and legal process, along with massive amounts of support from the public, overcame the establishment elected officials of Alameda County and East Bay Regional Parks who pulled out the stops in numerous attempts to bring Tesla and the riding expansion area to a stop.
The OHMVRD show courage under fire with their votes, and saw through the smoke and mirrors presented by the opposition organizations and area elected officials.
The next steps will include a programmatic approach to get wheels on the ground, and a solid process to do so. A “tip of the duck bill” to those employees and volunteers that have worked so, so hard for many years to bring the process to fruition……..
When and if a recorded video of the meeting becomes available, we will get it posted. It is important that all of OHV have a chance to view this, and ESPECIALLY elected officials. Some will raise their eyebrows when see that the Alameda County representatives offered to buy the property out from under us at this meeting…………………………… Unbelievable.
Please note that the Assembly and Senate representatives for the area sent staff to the meeting, and Commission Chair acknowledged them, and asked if they wished to speak, and both denied.
Says something about the election coming up in a few weeks, and ditto Livermore City Council races and Alameda County Board of Supervisors races……. For those of you that live in these voting areas, keep this in the back of your mind. OHV can be a powerful voting block
when pressed. We, or should I say YOU – just proved it.

District 36 Announces Membership Rates Increase To Become Effective December 1, 2016.
While District 36 regrets having to take this action, rising cost has given us no choice. The last rate increase was almost 10 years ago and we have held the line as long as possible.
New Rates as of Dec 1, 2016
One-Year
$35.00
One-year Family
$75.00
One-Meet Guest Pass*^
$15.00
Lifetime Membership
$350.00
Two and Three year membership will no longer be available after November 30, 2016
*One-Meet Pass only available for purchase at a Meet.
^The current One-Day Guest Membership will be renamed to One-Meet Guest Pass when the above rate change takes effect. This means that if you race in two different races in the same Meet but one race is on Saturday and one on Sunday, you will no longer have to purchase a Guest Pass for each day. The new One-Meet pass will be good for the duration of the Meet.
We understand there has been some confusion on the difference in the terms “Meets” and “Events”. A Meet consists of one or more Events in a Meet. For example a Cross Country Race that runs over two days is one “Meet” that consist of a group of “Events” (races) so the new One-Meet Guest Pass will cover all Events in the same Meet.
Please keep in mind that if you enter a Family Enduro on Saturday and a full Enduro on Sunday (of the same weekend) promoted by the same club, these are two different Meets and a separate One-Meet Guest Pass would be required for each enduro because a Family Enduro is a single Meet in a Series and a full Enduro is a single Meet in a different series.
Do you want to take advantage of the current Membership cost? If so and you are a current member but your card doesn’t expire until sometime next year we recommend that you renew before December 1, 2016, before the membership cost increases. This will extend your expiration date for one year. For example, if your current card expires June 2017 and you renew anytime before December 1, 2016, your new expiration date would be June 2018. And yes, this applies to two and three year memberships that will no longer be available after November 30, 2016. If you do consider this option please also consider doing it sooner than later to avoid delays at the end of the year rush!
District 36 Appreciates Your Understanding And Continued Support.
