I feel like it has been awhile since I have seen all of you. I would like to extend an invitation for you to join the Stonyford OHV Staff in sprucing up Black Oak Camp and adding barriers to protect an archaeological site, on Saturday, November 16 from 10 AM – 4 PM. We will rendezvous @ the Fouts Springs maintenance yard and car pool to the work location.
The weather forecast looks nice. However, please bring clothing for any and all weather conditions. Don’t forget to pack a lunch and bring water for rehydration.
It’s a busy time in Stonyford with the upcoming WFO Enduro, Volunteer Day, Bearfoot Enduro and Thanksgiving Week. I hope to see you all for at least one of these events! Feel free to call me with any questions!
There is one meet left, Richmond Ramblers’ Bearfoot, Round 6 of the District 36 Scott Sports Youth/Family Championship Enduro Series Presented by Acerbis / SRT and the competition is coming down to the wire so come out for a great season closer!!

RDR is pleased to announce that we are moving ahead with our new date of 11/17. The only hurtle we face is getting our date switched on our BLM permit, but historically we have not had a problem with that. Everything else is good to go! We were almost ready to post the route sheet when we were so rudely interrupted...
For those of you that pre-entered, we are keeping your pre-entry unchanged, just running a different date. Everything else stays the same, your pre-assigned row# will not change. I have a few entries that will be processed and your info sheets/row#s will be coming to your snailbox.
We are re-opening pre-entries again until Nov. 10th!
If you can't race this new date, we understand. You have a few choices:
1. Sell or give your entry to a buddy. Let us know. 2. Donate your entry fee to the Redding Dirt Riders! Let us know. 3. Request a refund via email to firstname.lastname@example.org before race day. Let us know.
We really hope the suits in DC figure this crap out soon and the other clubs get to run their races!

Two District 36 riders, Brooke Hodges on the U.S. Women's World Trophy Team and Alex Dorsey on the three rider club team The GoFasters.com Team competed in the 2013 International Six Days Enduro held in Sardinia, Italy.Congratulations to Brooke and Alex for doing us proud!!!!!
Below are excerpts from an AMA news release
AMA congratulates U.S. team for outstanding performance at 2013 International Six Days Enduro
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association thanks and congratulates the 31 riders who represented the United States at the 2013 International Six Days Enduro in Sardinia, Italy, Sept. 30-Oct. 5.
The U.S. Women's World Trophy Team earned sixth in its division, with all three of the team's riders finishing the event. The women's team included Mandi Mastin, Rachel Gutish and Brooke Hodges.
In the three-rider club team division, the United States placed two teams in the top five with the U.S. Wellard Team, made up of Ryan Sipes, Jimmy Jarrett and Nick Fahringer, finishing second. The GoFasters.com Team, whose roster included riders Ian Blythe, Alex Dorsey and Justin Sode, finished in fourth place, just 3.26 seconds behind third.
As this was the 3rd largest forest fire in California history, please note the Order if you recreate in the Stanislaus. If you wish to volunteer your time for trail work, please contact the forest and ask how you, your family, or group or club, can help. This fire has destroyed the FS budget, with cost exceeding 100 million dollars.
Let's show the world that OHV cares, and wants to help get the forest back open and on the road to recovery.

Don Amador, aka “The General”, on his Trail Pac Blog, has posted an interesting letter asking for help from forced closures by the Government. The letter, addressed to Senator John McCain, Senator Jeff Flake and Representative David Schweikert was sent from a North Phoenix company that operates campgrounds and day use areas under contract with the U.S. Dept of Agriculture / U.S. Forrest service.
This letter points out that the forced closure of privately contracted campsites and day use areas that do not use federal funds but are located on federal land is nothing more than a political play in the battle over government funding.
Follow the link below to read the letter and Don’s comments:

Our BLM recreational permit was suspended for this Sunday, Oct. 6th. due to the governmental shutdown. We will not hold our race without this permit.
If congress can reach an agreement and settle this financial mess by this THURSDAY, Oct. 3rd, we will have our race this weekend. If not, we will be forced to postpone it later in this year if we can get a date.
Keep checking back here or at the RDR website www.ReddingDirtRiders.comfor the latest information. We are saddened by this situation and are doing everything in our power to keep this race on two wheels!

Buckhorn Enduro May Be Postponed
Please see the notice below sent out by the Redding Dirt Riders regarding the Buckhorn Enduro. We strongly recommend you monitor their website as this is probably the best way to stay advised if the enduro will run or not. We will post what we know when we know it.....
"Sad news regarding the Buckhorn Enduro. Due to the government shut down, our recreational permit with BLM is cancelled. We cannot run our race without this permit.
At this point we don’t know if our permit can be reissued in time to race Sunday or not, even if congress reaches an agreement.
We will update our website, www.ReddingDirtRiders.com with the information we know just as soon as we hear it. Please check there for the latest information regarding if the race is on or off, and if we are going to reschedule it or outright cancel it. We will also post information on refunding any pre-entry fees paid—we will if we are unable to hold our race.

The Quiet Warrior, Don Amador, aka the General, participated in helping with some of the restoration in the fire damaged Stonyford OHV Trail system. No surprise there as Don is a dedicated land use advocate for The BlueRibbon Coalition but more importantly an advocate for you the rider.
While this is Don’s view of some of the work, we at District 36 would also like to extend our thanks to all the many volunteers that have given of their time to get the Stonyford area open is such short time. You are the unsung Hero’s.
Please visit the Quiet Warrior website to view his photos and thoughts on the trail restoration project at:

This is a great loss as Wilseyville was one of the premier meets and 2+2 always did an excellent job of putting it on.We thank 2+2 for all their past dedication and while there is no word on their future plans we hope to see them remain part of District 36!!!
Note:Please don’t take the above statement as “speculation”or innuendo. We really don’t know what their plans are!!!

LAO recently received this letter courtesy of Don Amador/Quiet Warrior Racing. With many D36 members VERY upset with the actions of East Bay Regional Parks of late, this official letter from OHMVRD speaks volumes. Kudos to Deputy Director Chris Conlin of OHMVRD. LAO will send a copy of this letter, along with a cover sheet to the Attorney General demanding that EBRPD remove any and all reference to the TESLA property being potential expansion lands for EBRPD. This land was bought and paid for by YOU via OHV Trust Funds. Note the property line is shared with the sister of sitting US Congressman John Garamendi, who has been putting questionable information out to the public, and she also spoke in SUPPORT of special legislation to INCREASE environmental protections of TESLA. LAO attended that Senate & Assembly Sub-Committee and stated our case. The legislation proposed DIED in committee. Please take a minute to read this document, and you will CLEARLY see the arrogance of the EBRPD leadership.
