Without State Senator Brian Jones’ leadership with SB 1024, CARB’s new regulations adopted in 2019 to sunset the Red Sticker Program would mean that the use of competition dirt-bikes for racing and practice would be restricted to private MX tracks like Glen Helen. Racing and practice riding on public lands such as SVRAs and BLM\/FS units would be a thing of the past. It was a sport killer. Huge kudos to Senator Jones (who is an avid OHVer) for this effort!\u00a0 Next step is Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on June 9.\u00a0\u00a0 There is still a lot of work to do but getting over this first hurdle was a major accomplishment.\u00a0\u00a0This legislation continues to be one of the most important issues for the LAO Program.<\/p>\n
