The 2018 Lilliputian Hare Scrambles
at Prairie City OHV November 3rd & 4th . 

This is Round 14 of the District 36 – Mojo Motosport Championship Cross Country Series presented by Honda, Kawasaki, KTM of Modesto, and Round 14 Of the District 36 – Motion Pro Youth Cross Country Championship Series presented by SpecBolt. 

Stuff To Know……….

You MUST have:

• Current AMA Membership Card**
• Current District 36 Membership Card**
• Scoring transponder compatible with D36 scoring equipment (available at signups)
• USFS approved spark arrestors
• Correct number plate and number-letter colors for your class on front and side plates
• Correct numbers and letter sizes required (see D36 Operations Manual Section 3.2.2 for youth and section 6.14 thru 6.17.2 for adults)
• Riding numbers on both sides of Helmet below the helmet strap.
• Current OHV sticker or licence plate (attached to bike)

For several decades, the District 36 Legislative Action Office (LAO) has fought for your right to ride and enjoy OHV recreation on public lands. Often those efforts include going to court to defend those rights against the closure agenda of anti-access organizations. The purpose of this update is to highlight an important alpine route that was reopened in 2018 due to a joint legal effort with the California Association of 4 Wheel Drive Clubs, California Enduro Riders Association, and the BlueRibbon Coalition/Sharetrails.org. The Schneider Cow Camp or Strawberry Trail was one of the 42 high-elevation OHV routes on the Eldorado National Forest that were closed by court order last July.
	Our legal fight to defend those historic trails resulted in the Forest’s eventual “conditional” designation of affected routes pending mitigation measures which include armoring wet trail segments, protecting meadows from vehicle incursion, and doing reroutes. Your donations to the District 36 LAO program help support its proactive engagement in important OHV-related administrative planning, legislative, or legal efforts.
Next time you are up near Carson Pass, feel free to take a ride on the 13 mile-long Strawberry Trail – that runs between Highways 88 and 50 – and enjoy the reopening of this OHV treasure and appreciate your LAO program’s effort to champion responsible OHV recreation on public lands. Stuff To Know……….

• Pass a sound test not to exceed 96 dba (decibels)
• Current OHV sticker or licence plate (attached to bike)
• Have a clean motorcycle (inspected to stop the spread of noxious weeds. — Forest Service requirement)

You will be assigned your riding number with a letter and it’s your responsibility to put it on your front number plate.  It should be at least 4″ high.
You will also be given a helmet sticker with your riding number that should be placed on the right (throttle) side of your helmet below the goggle strap.

The racing program kicks off on Saturday at 8:30 AM with the Beginner Women, Diva, Diva Pro and Vintage Exhibition taking to the course (see flyer for details)..  

Sunday’s racing starts at 8:00 am with the C Sportsmen, B Women, C Women and B/C Vet Women  (see flyer for details).

It’s open season! No you don’t have to wear your orange vest, it’s time for District 36 election of officers, committeemen, and helpers. All positions are up for grabs, we want the most enthusiastic capable folks to help us help racing and riding.  If you have some time, and maybe a special skill, or just willing to work for the good of our sport we can use the help.  Officers include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Director of Competition.  Stewards include Cross Country Steward, Enduro Steward, Youth Enduro Steward, Dirt Track Steward and Dual Sport Steward.  Also needed are Committeemen that are discipline specific to assist stewards in each discipline or act as “At Large” and help where needed. Other positions include Membership Director, Website Manager, Newsletter Editor/Manager.

The District is always looking for talented folks to help us with social media expertise, website ideas, advertising, sponsor programs and the banquet just to name a few.

Interested?  If so please contact me and I’ll help all that I can.  These elections are held at the December meeting by the incoming 2019 Board of Directors.
Note: Most positions require applicant to be a current member of District 36.
