The Cowbell Is ON!!!

Sitting there watching the rain and wondering if another Enduro is going to be called off due to the rain?  Worry no longer.  We have received an official call from Cliff Streib of the Hayward Motorcycle Club telling us that the Cowbell Enduro, Round 7 of the D36 / SRT Championship Enduro Series is on for this Saturday, November 1st.

Hayward MC Officials have met with the Forest Service today and the conclusion was unanimous to let the meet proceed.  Some rain today and the prediction of no rain with partly sunny skies on Saturday means only one thing, the conditions for this meet will be EPIC!!!!   Cliff was so excited that he told me, “The conditions are going to be so great that I want to ride the Enduro myself instead of working it!”

This is Hayward MC’s 68th Enduro and they always go the extra mile to produce a quality meet.  They outdid themselves this time by watering course with the aid of Mother Nature so if you miss it you will miss one of the few chances we have had in a long time for the “Perfect Ride”.

And if you don’t already have it…Cowbell Flyer

So pack up, travel to, gear up and have a great ride at the Cowbell Enduro!!!

Halloween “Trick Or Treat” At The Lilliputian

Pumpkin 1If you’re coming to the Lilliputian Hare Scrambles at Prairie City this weekend there will be Halloween Trick or Treating for the kids on Saturday evening instead of Friday, the traditional night of Halloween.

Why Saturday?  Because a lot of the “Racer Families” will be coming up late Friday afternoon / evening so the idea is to have “Trick or Treat” on Saturday evening so everyone can join in for a fun filled Halloween evening.

We are asking all to participate in this by bringing treats for the kids that will be going door to door (camper to camper).  Don’t forget to bring the costumes for the kids and yes, adults are encouraged to “costume up” as well.  This will be a safe environment for all the kids and a relaxed setting for the parents.   Witch 1

Our hope is that everyone will join in and make this a special “Halloween Race Weekend” for all our District 36 kids.

“On Any Sunday-The Next Chapter” Movie In A Special Showing BRC Fundraiser!

On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter

This special showing of the film “On Any Sunday – The Next Chapter” is a BlueRibbon Coalition fundraiser.

BRC-FB-AAs we know the BlueRibbon Coalition’s only focus is land use issues and working tirelessly to keep our lands open for responsible motorized recreation.  They have fought the good fight for us and will continue to do so but they do need our support.  So even if you can’t see the movie in this special fundraiser edition please consider donating to BluRibbon Coalition legal Defense Fund.  Without our support there is no “them”.

The original On Any Sunday, released in 1971, has become an Iconic movie for motorcyclist and is arguably the most influential happening that started the explosion of off road riding that has evolved into today’s family sport.   So it only makes sense for us to see this special screening and throw some support to the BlueRibbon Coalition in the process.

This movie is directed by Dana Brown, the oldest son of Bruce Brown, director of the original On Any Sunday.  Incidentally, Dana was 12 years old when his Dad made the original movie.  Dana followed his Dad’s path and directed these other Motorcycle movies as well as making sequels to  some of his fathers surfing movies.  Dana is tagged as an American surfer and filmmaker.

  • On Any Sunday: Revisited (2000)
  • On Any Sunday: Motocross, Malcolm, & More (2001)
  • Dust to Glory (2005)

The cast and crew of “On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter” discuss why the follow up film to the original “On Any Sunday” is important to the motorcycle community.

Brian Garrahan and GOT Off -Road Training has secured an all new location for their first Hare Scrambles race.  This means a new area that no one has raced in the past so be the first on your block to ride this course.  Because this is the first time here Brian ask that you respect the land and do not ride until your race.  Also clean up your camping / parking area and haul out all your trash when you leave.  Brian wants to finish the weekend in good standing and return again next year and he needs your help to do so.

The property is owned by the Black Oak Casino which is located across and just down the road from the staging area.  We encourage you to visit the Casino and maybe even book a room and leave the RV at home.  And if you do go there be sure to wear a shirt that depicts Off-Road Motorcycles / racing.  We want them to know we are supporting them as they are supporting us!

Prairie City General Plan Needs Your Comments!!

The prairie City SVRA General Plan, up to this point, has been influenced by the Prairie City Staff and the non-OHV riding public.  They are pushing for a designated trail system and eliminating open riding that has historically been allowed all along.  Do you what to see this happen?  Please follow one of the links below (all take you to the same page) in their announcement and make your comments known to them.  This is your park so please get involved in this very important issue…..
