A lot Of Smiles All Around

After decades of delays, and pressure by OHV organizations and their members, Carnegie-Tesla acquisition moves forward to opening up the new land to OHV for legal and responsible recreation.” Under extreme pressure from environmental organizations, with their legal representatives in tow – along with disgruntled folks making up questionable statements, the OHMVRD Commission Voted 7-0 to accept the EIR, and 7-0 to accept the new General Plan. This historic vote, supported by science and legal process, along with massive amounts of support from the public, overcame the establishment elected officials of Alameda County and East Bay Regional Parks who pulled out the stops in numerous attempts to bring Tesla and the riding expansion area to a stop.

The OHMVRD show courage under fire with their votes, and saw through the smoke and mirrors presented by the opposition organizations and area elected officials.

The next steps will include a programmatic approach to get wheels on the ground, and a solid process to do so.  A “tip of the duck bill” to those employees and volunteers that have worked so, so hard for many years to bring the process to fruition……..

When and if a recorded video of the meeting becomes available, we will get it posted.  It is important that all of OHV have a chance to view this, and ESPECIALLY elected officials.  Some will raise their eyebrows when see that the Alameda County representatives offered to buy the property out from under us at this meeting…………………………… Unbelievable.

Please note that the Assembly and Senate representatives for the area sent staff to the meeting, and Commission Chair acknowledged them, and asked if they wished to speak, and both denied.

Says something about the election coming up in a few weeks, and ditto Livermore City Council races and Alameda County Board of Supervisors races…….  For those of you that live in these voting areas, keep this in the back of your mind.  OHV can be a powerful voting block
when pressed.  We, or should I say YOU – just proved it.
