D36 Members, Clubs and Promoters:

December elections for the 2022 season are coming up! District 36 is looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to join in various capacities.

Positions Open:

BOD (2 year terms)

1 Board of Director seat is open.
Nominations to BOD include these qualifications:
A) Have held a D36 card or recognized card for 2 of the last 4 years. 
B) Be and remain a resident of the district. 
C) Have served at least 2 years either as club referee or club president, representative of this corporation or as a member of the BOD.

 A combination of any of these positions will satisfy the requirements of 2 years.  Requirements of section C may be waived by a two-thirds vote of those (active members) present at a regular meeting. 

Nomination are also being accepted for the following open positions, positions will be elected by the 2022 BOD:

• President
• Director of Competition
• Enduro Steward
• Family Enduro Steward
• GP Steward

When traveling to the Lilliputian there are some road closures that affect the routs normally taken to get to Prairie City SVRA!

Directions to avoid closed roads:

Traveling from the west to the Lilliputian (White Rock Road is closed at Sunrise).

1. East on Highway 50
2. Take the Sunrise Blvd South exit and continue south
3. Go approximately 3 3/4 miles turn left on Douglas Blvd.  (you will go past white Rock Road) 
4. Go 3 miles and turn left on Grant Line Road (this becomes White Rock Road)
5. Go 1/4 mile past the main entrance to PrairieCity SVRA  and turn right into the Gate 4 special event entrance

 

Traveling from the east to Lilliputian (Prairie city road from highway 50 to white rock road is closed)

1. West on Highway 50
2. Take the East Bidwell exit and go south on east Bidwell.
3. Go approximately 1.5 miles and turn right on White Rock road
4. Go approximately 2 3/4 miles and then turn left into the Gate 4 special event entrance (approximately 1/4 mile before the main entrance road).

Note Prairie city SVRA will also be open for regular riding both days of the Lilliputian on only the two practice tracks, the mini track and the rock general riding area.

The District 36 Annual Sanction meeting is upon us. All Clubs and Promoters are required to have at least two representatives in attendance, one a club officer and the other the club referee (if possible). There will be an election of some Board seats who’s terms are due to expire as well as awarding of meet and event dates for the 2022 year. There can also be important information and announcements.

All clubs and Promoters that wish to join or rejoin District 36 for 2022 must be Chartered to put on competition meets and/or special events under the District umbrella. If you haven’t already done so please go to the online District 36 Charter Application Form, complete it and pay the charter fees in advance of the upcoming Sanction Meeting. This helps the meeting to run smoother, greatly aids the Sanction Steward and gets us out of there sooner than later.

At this meeting nominations will be open for the upcoming 2022 Board of Directors election.   Are you interested or know someone who is?  The qualifications to be nominated are (from the D36 Bylaws):

To be nominated or elected as a Director of this Corporation, a member shall:
A. Have held a District Sportsman card from this District or a recognized District for a period of at least two (2) out of the last four (4) years.
B. Be and remain a resident of the District.
C. Have served at least two (2) years as either a Club Referee or Club President, Representative to this Corporation or a member of the Board of Directors. A combination of any of these positions will satisfy the requirements of two (2) years.
For purposes of the Section, requirements C may be waived by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those present at a Regular Meeting.

2021 Youth Sponsorship
Fall Cross Country Series

RUTS North is again offering sponsorships to District 36 youth riders in all classes.  To qualify you must be racing only a youth cross country class for fall 2021 and submit a written essay.

Essay Subject:

Please write at least 3 paragraphs on the importance of sportsmanship in off road racing.  Include how you personally demonstrate good sportsmanship while racing.

VERY IMPORTANT

1. Your essay must have a return address and the name of an adult to whom we can write a check.
2. Your essay must be written by you, addressing the subject. I cannot accept stock resumes sent to product sponsors.
3. Essays must be post marked no later than October 8, 2021. I will not accept essays hand delivered at the races.
4. Late essays will not be considered.
5. Sponsorships will be awarded Oct 30, 2021 at the Tough Cowboy HS, Red Bluff Ca.  Awardees will be notified prior to the race.

California Legislative Alert AB 1512 (Bauer-Kahan) Off-highway vehicular recreation: Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area:  Alameda-Tesla Expansion Area AB 1512 is in the Senate Appropriations Committee Suspense File to be heard on Thursday, August 26th, Upon Adjournment of Session   The Off Road Vehicle Legislative Coalition is comprised of several statewide or regional organizations of OHV enthusiasts.  Our coalition has reviewed AB 1512 and strongly opposes this bill.   AB 1512 would deny opportunities for local Bay Area residents, including the elderly and disabled and motorized recreation enthusiasts. It will set a precedent, allowing for the sale of any State Park where neighboring property owners seek relief from a perceived “wrong” in that Park. There are legislative and institutional processes in place to dispose of State Parks properties. These processes were deliberate in their development to ensure careful consideration of all factors before these assets would be sold or redesignated.  AB 1512 seeks to do an end run around these institutional processes.  Opposition to the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA), whether the expansion property or the current park, is a local issue. Statewide legislation is an abuse of legislative resources. Consider that this is the fifth year in a row such legislation has been introduced, and it still is directed at a single State Park. SB 249 (Chapter 459, Statutes of 2017) outlines specific processes and standards for State Vehicle Recreation Areas such as Carnegie, that exceed the standards for other State Parks. The proposed conservatorships would not be required to meet these high standards nor be required to be accessible to the California public. Carnegie SVRA meets the standards established for an urban park. To all that will be Chartering with District 36 for the remainder of this year and/or for 2022 we have updated the Charter Applications (you do not have to be a club or promoter that hosts meets to be a Chartered Member of District 36).

Please be sure to use the one for the correct year you are chartering for, either online (Much Preferred!) or the old fashion way with a mail in application (please print clearly).  On our Clubs & Promoters Resource Page we still have the 2021 Charter application as the year is only half over and have added the 2022 applications for those that like to plan ahead.

If you are promoting any kind of meet (competition or dual sport) under the District 36 umbrella for the 2021 fall or for 2022 you must be chartered with District 36.  Our annual Sanction Meeting is coming up Saturday September 18th and it’s STRONGLY advised to fill out your charter application online at least a week before the meeting.  You will be able to fill one out at the meeting but it slows the process and creates more work for the Sanction Steward so PLEASE fill it out on line here (2022)

Take a look at the main Menu on the website to find what resources you may need and then, if all else fails, go to the “contact Us” page for email and phone numbers of D36 officials.
While we’re always here and more that happy to answer questions, we prefer that you look up any information you need as we feel you will then know where to find it and where to look for other info.  Most of the time this is a lot faster than sending an email with a question and waiting for a response.  We don’t maintain an office and all the officials are volunteers and may not be readily available.
